Horseback-Riding

At the moulin the Crupies we hold a small herd of horses. They belong here and not just for riding. To sit in the park watch horses peacefully browsing beside you is a wonderful experience.

We try to keep our horses as natural as possible. The horses are not kept in stables. They live the whole year outside, where they have the possibility to shelter themselves in the small wood or in the barns.
We know that keeping horses naturally makes their behaviour is much calmer and more balanced. Thus, kept like this, even a novice is safe and has no problem riding the horse.

Hansruedi is our guide with the horses and he ensures that both horses and the environment are treated with respect and the safety of riders maintained.

Once you experience the beautiful surroundings on a horseback you will come to discover a totally new viewpoint.

Information to the horseback rides

All guided horseback tours take place in the surrounding. We are riding along Lavender-fields, trough little rivers, along ridges and on forest tracks. The aim of these rides is the experience and not a sporty challenge. The horseback riding in a group will always take care of the less unexperienced rider. In case of big contrast in riding knowledge, we can guide two different groups, if possible (one in the morning, the other in the afternoon). The rides will be mainly quiet but there are also line segments for trotting or galopping. We try to comply the wishes of our guests, if possible.

Our Horses

“Still waters run no mills”. Similarly, one would say, that without our horses, Moulin de Crupies would not be what it is.

The horses belong and are a firm part of le Moulin de Crupies.

Our herd consists of different races, such as 4 Mérens (the French horse of the Pyrenees), 2 New Forest Ponies and a French Trotter.

Weeks with the theme around horses

In the near future we want to organize weeks with the theme around horses. As well we plan to organize some horse trekkings of several days. The Drôme offers therefore a very nice net of horse tracks.
